Hard Skills Vs. Soft Skills

Hard Skills Vs. Soft Skills

?I have to finish this chair with 18?
?I have to learn how to invest in the stock market?
?I have to learn to speak English fluently?

Does this sound like someone? These are typical statements from University students who are about to enter the job market.
There is an almost excessive tendency among young people to overvalue their your technical capabilities, your knowledge or your ability for a given program. And don't get me wrong! hard skills are extremely important and highly valued by employers, but there are more and more graduates, more and more technology and knowledge and, fortunately or unfortunately, jobs are not growing at that rate.

It is in this competitive reality that we must differentiate ourselves! Whether through our behavior or our ideals, there is something different in each of us that can be used in favor of companies and this is called soft skills.

In fact, until recently, no one talked about behavioral skills and their importance for professional insertion: the Teaching was focused exclusively on scientific knowledge and the job market was full of ?geniuses? with limited horizons for something that went beyond their training and later role.

But the need to be multifaceted was born and, on the one hand, hard skills are taught in ?school?, where soft skills?

There is no exact ?place? where we can learn to be more organized or more flexible. But, in my opinion (and perhaps it becomes a little repetitive throughout the various post's), there are a series of extracurricular activities that we can get involved in and that will enhance our soft skills< /span> most wanted out there:

  • Support in volunteer projects or company programs;
  • Insertion in university projects (from sports clubs to research centers);
  • Experience an Erasmus;
  • Read about current events (very important to awaken critical sense);< /li>

These are all activities that any university at national and international level offers. Don?t forget that more important than having good grades is keeping them while filling your day with tasks as enriching as ?theoretical material? and which allows you to develop your leadership ability, thecritical sense, the ability to work in a groupand the dexterity to work under pressure ? the 4 soft skills most coveted today.

Improve every day. Create impact
