Classes Have Started and I Want to Be an Entrepreneur

Classes Have Started and I Want to Be an Entrepreneur

September is here! There are scheduled frequencies, theses to be finished. There is an infinite number of things to do and, with each passing day, it seems that the only thing we lack is time.

The routine is back and we, as determined students that we are, want to create greater impact, right? So let's go! Here are the 3 essential steps to put everyone's entrepreneurial spirit to the test:

Step 1: Enjoy your day

There are 24 hours in a day, so no more ?I don?t have time?. If we take an hour and a half for meals, two and a half hours for transport, leisure and hygiene and another hour for sports, we have 19 hours left. A university student has, on average, 3.6 hours of classes a day (if we include weekends in the average) and, according to National Sleep Foundation (2014), a young person between 18 and 25 years old should sleep between 7 and 9 hours a day (as we want make the most of our day, let's choose to sleep only at 7am). So, we have about8 hours left in our day which must be adapted to the needs and ambitions of each person.

2nd Step: Expand networking

Networking! You're tired of hearing this word, aren't you? In a simplified way, networking is the our ?network of contacts?, that is, the relationships we establish with those who can add value to our professional or even personal lives (but be careful, nothing to do with the so-called ?wedges?).

Wide the networking < /span>is increasingly important in a world as connected as ours, in a world where first-hand information is as valuable or more valuable than gold and where the ?result? depends 100% on the professional relationship established in the organizations.

Ideas that allow you to create and foster a solid network of contacts are, for example:

  1. Collaborate in a student association;
  2. Embrace volunteer projects;
  3. Invest in social networks for professional use (here I highlight LinkedIn);
  4. Collaborate with companies whose ideals are in our interest;

?But how can I do this?? You ask. I promise that some of these ideas will be discussed in greater detail in future publications so that there are no doubts or excuses.

3rd Step: Learn about entrepreneurship

?I haven?t even finished the course yet and I?m already going to hear how to create my own business?? Why not?

So, to make your life easier, here are two programs to start your school year off with a bang:

  • Workshop ?What support do you have to create your own business??

26 September, in Aveiro

This is a workshop promoted by Multidados ? Formação and the Services of the Portuguese Institute of Sports and Youth (IPDJ), which aims to inform young entrepreneurs of what incentives, programs and support they can expect when they decide to start building their own business.

And the best part? It's completely free! Just send an email with your registration (full name, email, mobile number, age and location) until September 19th.

  • 8th Iberian Entrepreneurship Conference

15th and 16th November, in Salamanca

It is an annual conference that aims to encourage entrepreneurship in young people and connect the Academic World with the Business World. In addition, it also has a scientific day, where students and researchers can present their projects.

Registration fees vary between ?50 and ?100.

The best way to prepare for the future is to learn about the present. And this ?learning? does not come to us, it is not given to us on a plate in theoretical classes (truth be told, no one learns to ?do? entrepreneurship during classes). This ?learning? requires a lot of dedication and a lot of searching! So, look for new initiatives and programs, attend conferences and workshops that can give you more information, read about new companies and new investment trends and, of course, keep an eye on the Fblog orall Phones, where you will find the best content to become true entrepreneurs.< /span>

Improve every day. Create impact.
