The expectation is that a more affordable iPhone and a 5G iPad will be launched on March 8.
Apple is expected to launch a lower-cost iPhone and iPad 5G on March 8th, they say the American network CNBC and Bloomberg. The eventshould be live and virtual, as the company has done since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020. If confirmed, it will be the first launch since October 2021, when the MacBook Pro was announced.
Currently, Apple only has one low-cost iPhone, theiPhone SE, which was released in 2020 and retails for USD $399. The expectation is that the new product will have the same design, but an improved camera and a faster processor, in addition to being 5G. The new iPad is expected to be an updated version of the iPad Air, which currently sells for USD $599.
After March launches, Apple plans to announce software updates for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch in June. According to Bloomberg, the 2022 lineup should include new iMac and Mac Pro desktops, a redesigned MacBook Air, an updated low-cost MacBook Pro, three Apple Watches, four iPhone 14 models and new AirPods.
