Apple Watch: 5 features that could save your life
ht bulb is one of the most common examples we can mention. If an Apple Watch user suffers a fall, the device's built-in accelerometer and gyroscope can detect the situation and help them contact emergency services and send a message to selected contacts. The watch detects that the user is immobile, taps their wrist, issues a warning and then attempts to make a call to emergency services.

It is important to remember that fall detection is automatically activated if the user is 55 years or older (the device uses the date of birth that you entered during the initial Apple setup Watch or added to your iPhone's Health app). If you are between 18 and 55 years old, you must manually activate fall detection.

  • Accident detection
  • The Apple Watch Series 8 or Apple Watch SE (2nd generation) have a feature called Accident Detection, which uses the watch's sensors to detect the occurrence of a serious road accident. This functionality was recently added by Apple.

If you're involved in a car accident, your Apple Watch sounds an alarm and presents an option to make an emergency call. If you are conscious, you can choose to make the call or cancel it. If your watch doesn't respond after 20 seconds, your Apple Watch automatically places a call to emergency services, providing them with latitude and longitude coordinates with an approximate search radius.

  • Blood oxygen
  • The human body needs oxygen to function properly and blood plays a vital role in supplying oxygen to all organs. Measuring the oxygen level in the blood allows you to know the percentage of oxygen that red blood cells transport from the lungs to the rest of the body. Knowing whether your blood is being adequately oxygenated can give you a better sense of your health and general well-being ? and Apple Watch can help you with that measurement!

If you have an Apple Watch Series 6 or later on your wrist, you can check your blood oxygen level using the Blood Oxygen app. The app periodically measures your blood oxygen level throughout the day if background measurements are enabled, but you can take a measurement at any time. To do this, rest your arm on a table or in your lap and make sure your wrist is horizontal, with the Apple Watch screen facing up. Tap ?Start? and then keep your arm still during the 15-second countdown. At the end of the measurement, you receive the results on the screen.

Apple Watch isn't just a fashion accessory

With all these benefits, it's hard to argue that the Apple Watch isn't a good investment, as it allows you to monitor your health and prevent situations like the ones above mentioned. In addition to the features described, Apple Watch has a training app that helps you maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
