The most recent numbers from the main analysis companies show that the scenario continues without major changes.

Referring to global Smartphone sales in the first quarter of 2022, the Canalys report showed that almost all The main manufacturers on the planet had a drop in sales compared to the previous year... except Apple!

According to the company's estimates,Apple sold 56.5 million of iPhones in the period, registering a growth of 8% in relation to the 52.4 million recorded in the first quarter of 2021.

With its growth,Apple expanded itsglobal market share to 18%, approaching the leader Samsung. The South Korean company had a 4% drop in sales compared to the previous year, yet the decreasewas smaller than other competing companies, making the largest Apple's competitor reached its largest market share of the last five years: 24%, almost 1/4 of the global market. There were 73.7 million smartphones sold in the last quarter.

The Top 5 is completed by three Chinese companies: Xiaomi, OPPO/OnePlus and Vivo, all with significant drops (between 20% and 30%) compared to the previous year. Overall, the smartphone market fell 11% in one year, according to Canalys.

Strategy Analytics and IDC published reports for the last quarter, all with small variations in numbers, but an overall very similar scenario.

It is worth noting that Apple yesterday released its financial results for the second fiscal quarter of 2022 and highlighted the growth in revenue from iPhones compared to the same period in previous year.
