A generation with so many responsibilities, and (sometimes) so irresponsible!

A generation with so many responsibilities, and (sometimes) so irresponsible!

We are at the end of summer 2021 and here I came across news that caught my attention.

Not because of its rarity (unfortunately), but because in fact, we young people today, are part of a generation that, whether we like it or not, is responsible for keeping our planet aliveand preserving it as we know it.

The news mentioned, among other things, that the crowds of young people who went on vacation to the beach area of ??Vila Nova de Milfontes left the beaches completely dirty and stuck in rubbish, without show minimal concern about the pollution impact they cause. Bottles, glasses, butts, boxes and packaging with food waste were the most common objects.Pollution of all shapes and forms. Pollution is the biggest cause of global warming, decreased biodiversity and habitat degradation. Garbage that accumulates on the beaches and goes into the sea, joining the enormous masses of garbage that are grouped throughout the oceans and seas, making up a greater number of items in the year 2048 than the amount of fish in the sea, as stated some researchers.

Now, we are the most evolved generation in history, with a greater background of knowledge, with more tools available and greater capacity to overcome ourselves, and at the same time for all this , we are the greatest and perhaps only great hope for us as humanity to stay here for a few more good times.

If we want to have this responsibility on our shoulders, to try to change and reduce the accumulated impact of all past generations on our planet. Are we young people available, concerned and committed to helping save what is left of our planet? Maybe not or maybe yes. It depends on each of us and what we want to do and how we want to create an impact in today's world.

While some young people prefer to act in a more carefree way, convincing themselves that the planet lasts forever and that it is easier to leave trash on the beach than to throw it away. put it in the trash and if possible even recycle it, others of us struggle every day to find ways to be sustainable, providing knowledge and strategies to impact and change the world in the right way, recycling, reusing, minimizing tons of waste produced and increasingly applying the circularity of products in the economy and in our daily lives.

We at Forall Family are part of a Community of Young People who want to change the world for the better. We prefer sustainability to pollution! We choose responsibility and not lack of responsibility. We assume commitment and responsibility, knowing that the smallest actions, such as keeping the beaches clean and recycling our trash, can help a lot in this mission. And you, will you take on all this with us?

Graduate in Biology and Geology, Master in Applied Ecology, I joined Forall Phones as a Community Shaper in the Aveiro Sal team in February 2020, as I felt that the ecological vision of circular economy proposed by Forall was something for the future and with which I wanted to learn and grow! Throughout this time I have been involved in some internal projects, trying to impact Forall Family, our customers and society in general in a more ecological and sustainable way. In addition to all this and the friendships that Forall gave me, the possibility of developing my soft skills, preparing myself more and more for the future is yet another factor that keeps me in this great team!
